Description

Thomas P Marwick, 1881. 4-storey, 4-bay tenement with Baronial details, forming part of terrace. Squared and snecked sandstone with contrasting polished ashlar dressings. Base course; dividing cornice above ground floor; string course; at 3rd floor, bracketted corbel table at 3rd floor stepped down to 2nd floor in 3rd bay; chamfered reveals.

W ENTRANCE elevation: roll-moulded doorway with single window in flanking to left in 2nd bay; panelled door plate glass fanlight; single windows above. Single windows in 3rd bay. 2nd and 3rd bays linked by crowstepped gable with gablehead stack; floral patera set in gablehead. Full-height canted windows corbelled to square at gablehead in bays to outer left and right; gablet skewputts, finials and kneelers to gables; blinded gunloop set in gablehead to outer left; heraldic panel set in gablehead to outer right. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; coped T-plan gablehead stack; coped mutual stacks.

INTERIORS: not seen 1991.
