Description

Alexander Macnaughton, 1880. 4-storey, 5-bay tenement with Jacobean details, forming part of terrace. Coursed orange sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. Base course; band course above ground floor; string courses at 1st and 3rd floors; raised shouldered window surrounds; chamfered reveals; roll-moulded doorways; panelled doors; plate glass fanlights. S ENTRANCE elevation: Doorways between 2nd and 3rd bays and in 4th bay. Full-height canted window in 2nd bay; swept canopy to stone finialled gablehead with kneelers. Full-height canted windows in 5th bay with stone brattishing forming parapet. Single windows in 1st, 3rd and 4th bays; hoodmoulding and pedimented dormerhead to 3rd floor window of 1st bay. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; shouldered and corniced wallhead stack with decorative corbel to pedimented panel; coped mutual stacks.

INTERIORS: not seen 1991.

Low boundary coping to street.
