Description

Alexander MacNaughton, 1882. 4-storey, 5-bay tenement with Jacobean details, forming part of terrace; stone-cleaned. Coursed orange sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. Base course; string course above ground floor and at 2nd floor; raised window surrounds; chamfered reveals; roll-moulded doorways; panelled doors; plate glass fanlights.

W ENTRANCE elevation: shouldered doorway at centre with pilasters and strapwork carving in open pediment, flanked by single windows; single windows above; semi-circular dormerhead. Doorways in 2nd and 4th bays; single windows above; pedimented dormerhead in 2nd bay; semicircular dormerhead in 4th bay. Full-height canted windows corbelled to square at gableheads in outer bays; corniced slit window in gablehead to outer left; string course over slit window in mannered gablehead to outer right. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; corniced wallhead stack with blank diamond panel inset; coped mutual stacks.
