Description

David MacKenzie, circa 1840. 2-storey 3 by 3-bay detached villa, painted ashlar with margined windows, recessed at ground floor. Later rubble-built extension to Laurel Bank. Prominent gusset site.

W elevation 3-bay, central porch with entablature on columns with block capitals. 3-window bow to right. Main cornice. Later 2-storey and attic with steep mansard and platformed roof set back to left by Laurel Bank. S elevation symmetrical 3-bay with centre pedimented doorpiece. Main cornice.

Piended slate roofs with later dormers, 2 canted. Tall coped stacks. Windows sash and case 12-pane glazing pattern to original part, curved sashed at bow. 4-pane pattern to addition.

Low curved ruble-built boundary walls with square ashlar gatepiers.
