Description

David MacKenzie, circa 1850. 2-storey 3-bay symmetrical villa with baronial detailing, ashlar.

S ELEVATION: centre bay recessed with advanced Doric-columned (semi-fluted) and pilastered porch. Dies formerly carried ball finials (removed 1986). Single margined light over. Flanking gabled bays, ground floor corniced bipartites, 1st floor windows with skinny pilaster architraves and pediments. Crowstepped gables with scrolled skewputts. Single-storey service wing set back at left, basket arched porch at right.

Slate roof. Off-centre and gable end stacks, 1 corniced, 1 rebuilt in brick.

Low boundary walls to street with square ashlar gatepiers. Railings missing.
