Description

Early 18th century storehouse. 3-storey 70 feet by 42 feet.
Sited on quay W of harbour entrance SE front of 5 bays with
altered openings. Loading platform to SW side approached by
flight of steps; 2 doors centrally with loft door in swept
dormer above.
NW front of 4 wide bays, with 4 sandstone corbels at
wall-head.
N corner of NE front sloped away. Sandstone rubble now
harled; piended roof, corrugated-iron, formerly pantiled.
Interior: central partition wall NE to SW, 2ft 8in thick with
openings.

Statement of Interest

N corner sloped away in later 19th century to by-pass earlier

recess in face of wharf. NW front corbels probably served as

gutter supports.
