Late 19th century. 3-storey and attic corner shop with
renaissance details. 2 large wallhead gables to each
elevation, weak corner turret with leaded bell-cast roof
originally raised on columns and with tiny cupola over.
Modern ground floor. Polished red ashlar, with horizontal
bands and vertical strips. 4 regular bays to Bank Street, 5
to High Street, pedimented 1st floor windows in gabled bays.
Original mansard roof with rooflights; gable heads each with
cartouche, flanking finials, capped by diminutive pediment.
End stacks; roofs mainly slated.
Listed Category B for relationship to remainder of buildings
in Bank Street. Advertisement in D Watt, GUIDE TO ANNAN, 4th
ed 1902, p. xiii contains sketch showing original appearance
of building.
