Early to earlier 19th century. Single storey, 2-bay building. Painted rubble.

Small-pane glazing above shutters. Red sandstone coped skews to E and W. Painted rubble gablehead stack to W. Small grey slates.
This building was built sometime between 1794 and 1840; the building is not shown on the "Plan ... of New Luce" of 1794, but it is shown on the "Plan of the Village of New Luce" of 1840. The Main Street is called "New Clauchan" on the latter plan. It was probably a smiddy. The building is listed for group interest with No 2 Main Street (see separate listing).
