Description

Late 18th century. Vehicular bridge over Cross Water of Luce; single track, on N-S axis. Single span, with broad segmental arch. Rubble voussoirs and coping. Parapets angled at centre.

Statement of Interest

Cross Water Bridge is shown on the "Plan ... of New Luce" of 1794.

"Mr Cumming's Plan and Elevation of the Crosswater Bridge" is mentioned in a letter of 1840 (GD135/Box61/29).
