Description

Late 18th century gate lodge extended in mid and later 19th
century. Originally mirrored by lodge to N. Rubble, formerly
harled to original lodge with squared rubble to mid 19th
century and harling to latest work. Raised ashlar margins and
eaves course.
N ELEVATION: originally 2-bay with door at left and windows
to right, extended by window bay to left (circa 1850) and by
further bay with bipartite window (circa 1890).
S ELEVATION: 3 windows, single to right of original lodge and
bipartites to later extensions to right.
W ELEVATION: single window placed centrally. Entrance screen
wall running N with pedestrian gateway.
12-pane glazing in sash and case windows with timber mullions
and plate glass and 2-light glazing to some later windows.
Piend slate roof. Ashlar wallhead and later ridge stack.
WALL TO N: detailed as W elevation with blind window and
pedestrian gate.
GATEPIERS: 2 ashlar pillars with swept caps supporting ball
finials.
Wrought-iron railing and gates.
