Circa 1830. Remaining W rage of a formerly quadrangular steading. Central pend with tower above incorporating dovecot. 3-bay, single-storey ranges flanking, terminating in 2 advanced abys. Roughly squared and snecked rubble, grey sandstone ashlar to tower, ashlar dressings, eaves course and cornice.
TOWER AND DOVECOT: advanced central bay with depressed arched entrance pend, baorded door. 2-stage dovecot above; square ashlar base, octagonal chamber above with blind Tudor-arched windows to each face, each with3 flightholes above and cornice. Tall plygonal roof with swept eaves and finial. Single storey, 3-bay ranges flanking, terminating in advanced, 2-bay pavilions. Blind windows to right, pavilion to left in use as a cottage. Grey slates to piended roof, later rendered stack to cottage. Much altered, with modern additions at rear.
No nests remain in the dovecot. Forrest and Sharp, Greenwood and Fowlers Maps show a brewery at Trabroun.
