Description

Early 18th century. 3-stage circular dovecot in N retaining wall of stable courtyard. Roughly squared and coursed rubble with 2 ashlar rat courses and coped, batlemented parapet. Entrance to courtyard with boarded door, bull's-eye flight-hole to each floor above. Circular stone canopy over roof opening, supported on 6 slender ashlar pillars. INTERIOR: 764 ashlar nests with potence.

Elvingston House and Stables to S are listed separately. The dovecot probably served an earlier house on the site.
