Circa 1804. 2-storey, 5-bay classical house, possibly remodelling an earlier house. Broadly droved ashlar with base course, raised cells, band course, cornice and pediment. Squared and coursed red sandstone to sides and rear.
NW ELEVATION: 3 central bays advanced and pedimented broad single bays flanking. Doric columned and corniced doorpiece at centre with fluted frieze. Panelled deep-set door with broad strip fanlight. 2 windows to each side. 5 windows at 1st floor. Glazed oculus to pediment.
SE ELEVATION: coursed ashlar, cornice, corner die, lean-to addition. Window to left enlarged tobipartite with stone mullion. Large round-headed stair window to centre with 4-pane side lights. 4 regularly disposed windows at 1st floor. 2-bay side elevations; blind windows to each floor. Sash and case windows; 2-pane glazing pattern to NW elevation. 12-pane at 1st floor rear. Grey slates to piended roof,corniced wallhead stacks to end walls and pediment.
GATEPIERS: Random rubble and drum gatepiers with pyramidal caps.
Forrest Map, 1799 shows extensive planations around house and steading; in possession of Gray Esq.
