Uploader's Comments

The beautiful village of Inveresk runs along a ridge above a bend in the River Esk SE of Musselburgh. It was the site of an important Roman Fort and settlement. In the 17th and 18th centuries many wealthy Edinburgh and Leith merchants built villas on eith side of the village street with large gardens on the slopes of the ridge.
