Earlier 19th century. Octagonal, 2-stage garden building on
falling ground, probsably a toolshed with dovecot above.
Rubble, with ashlar dressings. Door with keystoned octagonal
oculus above in upper stage. Opening on opposite face at
rear, to upper stage, at raised ground level. Square
flight-hole (?) openings under eaves, 2 to each face. 4
small-panes to oculus. Grey slates to polygonal roof.
Sited in garden of Overton House (not included in current
listings), the octagonal building probably served the purpose
suggested as there is not sufficient fenestration for it to
have served as a summer-house. The interior (not seen 1989)
must be viewed to establish whether the structure ever served
as a dovecot.
