Late 18th century with 19th century alterations. Built on the Montrave estate, probably intended to be symmetrical but northern wing never completed. 2 bay, 2 storey pedimented block with Roman Doric doorpiece at right, lower 2 storey wide single bay wing to south with Venetian window to 1st floor; to north where matching wing should be is a late 19th century canted ground floor window on north elevation. Whin rubble with ashlar long and short dressings, quoins and raised quoins between centre block and wing, details in masonry suggests a possible original central door. Tall panelled stacks, slate roof, platform over wing with
cast-iron balustrade. Later rear wings and additions.
Steading: An excellent example of a Fife steading. North range and part east range built by 1796. L-plan courtyard with large rectangular 6-bay covered cattle court in the centre; whin and rubble built with long and short dressings. North range includes thrashing floor with loft above and engine house attached at rear, slate roof. East range stabling and 5-bay cart shed. Centre block 6 long linked ranges with piended, pantiled roofs and ventilators. Linked to loft range by timber and slated bridge.
