Circa 1830. 2-storey, 3-bay plain traditional farmhouse with single storey projection to rear. Whinstone rubble with unusually narrow ashlar quoins and dressing details. Deep base course to SE.
SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical. 9-panelled timber door with 2-pane fanlight and relieving arch to centre at ground, windows in flanking bays and regular fenestration close to eaves at 1st floor. Evidence of former gabled porch.
SW ELEVATION: with window off-centre left to each floor and broad gablehead stack.
NE ELEVATION: window to outer right at ground and 2 windows, also to right, at 1st floor; broad gablehead stack.
NW ELEVATION: bay to right of centre with piend-roofed projection with 2 doors on return to right and window on return to left; small bipartite window off-centre left at ground and further window to centre above.
Lying 10-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates. Coped ashlar stacks with full complement of cans; ashlar-coped skews.
BOUNDARY WALLS: low semicircular-coped rubble boundary walls.
Group with adjacent steading. Nearby Kilmux House, walled garden and lodge house are all listed separately.
