Early 19th century, with late 19th century alterations and
additions. Mixed pink and grey coursed rubble with tooled
ashlar sandstone dressings. Long mainly 2-storey, 11-bay
symmetrical S frontage with central tower and flanking single
bays stepped forward from main elevation. Hoodmoulded
arched pend at base of tower, decorative mock arrow slits,
castellated parapet and housing for clock face N and S.
Tripartite in 1st floor inner S face of tower with set
flight holes within tripartites in 2nd floor.
Flanking 4 bays slightly lower, with small loft vents or
windows in 1st floor; end bays slightly advanced with
carriage houses. 3-bay stables (with stalls and loose-box) to W
of centre block. 12-pane glazing to S elevation fenestration
slate roofs; decorative brattishing to ridge of steeply
pitched tower roof.
In early 19th century James Fraser of Belladrum "erected ...
a farm steading of ... magnificence".
