Probably A & W Reid, circa 1875. Single storey building
comprising dairy and dwelling. All grey rubble with
contrasting tooled ashlar dressings. 3-bay SE front with
centre door under small swept canopy serving dwelling (right)
and with internal access to dairy (left). Centre entrance to
dairy in SW gable, masked by verandah across full width
of gable, supported by 4 rustic timber columns; 3 diminutive round-headed windows in gable above slated verandah canopy.
Dairy lit at NW by 3 round-headed windows; 4-pane glazing to
dwelling; 2-pane with decorative coloured geometric leaded
glazing to dairy.
Square ridge vent above dairy with paired round-headed
louvred openings in each face topped by pyramidal
slated roof with cast-iron finial. Coped ridge stack rises
from small wing at NW; jerkin headed slate roofs.
Interior: original interior and fittings survive in dairy;
centre 2-tier fountain; coloured ceramic tiles cover lower
half of walls and cills; shelving; decorative mosaic tiled
floor.
Various fittings such as shallow lipped basins and churns
remain in dairy. See note to Guisachan Farmhouse.
