Later 18th century summer house and walled garden
situated in grounds to S of Johnstounburn House Hotel.
SUMMER HOUSE: square-plan 2-storey garden pavilion;
random red sandstone rubble, with some harling
remaining; ashlar dressings, eaves course and cornice.
Doorway to E with 3-pane fanlight and blind narrow
8-pane window above; window guard. Further doorway to
E at 1st floor with timber forestair; panelled squat
stack to SW corner. Narrow 9-pane sash and case windows
to N, at ground and 1st floor, latter with window
guard. Grey slates to pyramidal roof with lead
weathervane; urn finials to 3 corners, 1 missing.
WALLED GARDEN: sandstone rubble walls, with ashlar
coping and some brick lining. Lean-to 19th century
decorative hot-house against N wall, with canted
projection at centre; brick base course and decorative
wrought-iron finial.
