Description

Probably Thomas Telford, circa 1820.
Wide 2-bay, 2 storey and attic house with later rear wing.
Nearly symmetrical south front, harled with painted granite,
shallow projection, windows at ground and 1st floors in east
bay, west bay with 1 window to ground and slightly narrower
window at 1st floor. Slate hung west wall with later porch.
Remaining walls harled and painted; rear wing cuts across 1st
floor rear windows. Very deep boarded eaves; shallow, piended
slate roof.
Interior: unusual plan, probably originally 2 houses, now
with 2-staircases in south west and south east angles, 2 main
rooms on south front, long rear corridor with arches and
arched opening to rear wing. Good panelled doors.
