18th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, square-plan house; later rear outshot to N. Rough harled walls; sandstone surrounds to openings, cavetto eaves course and to vertical margins at SW, NW and NE quoins. Crowstepped gables.
S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: central replacement glazed door; window to left; replacement window to right. Central 1st floor window; flanking windows.
W ELEVATION: plain gable with single storey cottage attached to W.
N ELEVATION: 2 1st floor windows to right; single storey monopitch outshot to left; 3 windows; door with fanlight in right return.
E ELEVATION: ground floor window to left; 1st floor window to right. Continuous harled buttress slopes from bottom of ground floor to ground.
Predominantly 8-pane timber sash and case windows; one 12-pane window to left of entrance door. Pitched slate roof, laid in diminishing courses; harled gable apex stacks; crowstepped gable wallheads; moulded skewputts. Rooflight to front. Slated outshot to rear; plain raised skews.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1999.
BOUNDARY WALL
Sandstone rubble wall to E, W and S.
The house overlooks Brucehaven arbour and was presumably built in connection with the Harbour. It now serves as the clubhouse for the Forth Cruising Club. The adjoining cottage (formerly 2 cottages) is not part of the Statutory List.
