Original house in existence circa 1710, extended 1753 by
George Paterson of Newmilns, reconstructed circa 1776, and
later (?). Plain 3 storey mansion, 3 windows wide plus
advanced 3 window bow to right-hand wing. Harled walls,
exposed corner pilasters and window margins, hipped slate
roofs, stone stacks, single dormer. Pedimented doorpiece
off-centre to left; conservatory to left gable end;
crenellated screen wall runs to right to join hipped slated
outbuilding, wall returns forward to form gateway to Rossie
farm.
Fire-escapes at rear.
Large walled garden to south of house.
