Style of William Flockhart. Early 1900's. English Vernacular
Revival. Long, low range of buildings comprising 2 storeyed
cottage, byre, barn and linked by timbered arcade in balanced
asymmetry, all having tiled roofs.
Cottage has near mansard bellcast roof with dormers and
central chimney. Entrance porch and square bay window south
elevation. Deep eaves; harled to cill height with bullfaced
rubble footings and clasping buttresses. Side door to east
opens to arcade, leading to dairy with portico straddling
arcade and to byre and barn. Besides portico dairy has stone
built portion with pyramidal roof with loft and weathervane,
and piend-roofed main block behind. This runs north/south and
has tall chimney.
Harled byre with masonry footings as the cottage and similar
masonry door surround facing arcade. Gambrel roof with
louvred gables to exceptionally tall loft; large
segment-headed window front elevation. White tiled interior
with stalls. To north and east low built stone range with
battered buttress and loft with horizontal louvred openings.
