Detached house. Early C19.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, roof not visible behind parapets.
EXTERIOR: Compact block, originally in two storeys, raised to three, with three windows, twelve-pane sashes. Square ashlar central porch with panelled pilasters, entablature with blocking course and ball finials. Moulded string above first floor, sill band to second floor at level of former parapet, cornice and blocking above second floor, with early cast iron geometric balustrade, returned at ends. Left flank has twelve-pane sash with margin panes above panelled door in deep plain reveals, two smaller lights to left, and lower block with parapet. Ashlar stacks to each gable, and deep stack to rear range. Right return is plain. Attached right one storey later range to parapet.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: From front at left ashlar wall approx 1.5m high to flush rounded coping, and with section of simple railing swept to facade, comes forward to pavement, where it returns as dwarf wall, formerly railed, to central pair of octagonal gatepiers with pyramidal cappings, dwarf wall continues right across full width of site. This is first of series of villas continued along north side of Church Road, with fine views over countryside to south.
