Lodge and gardener's cottage. c.1923. George Walton for J.B.B. Wellington of The Leys. Whitewashed render to walls and chimneys; deep rendered eves; plain tile roof, very steeply pitched and hipped with lead flashings. Single range of one storey and an attic.
EXTERIOR: 4 windows to ground floor, all 3-light metal casements. Raking dormers to centre to centre front and right hip have similar windows. Between left windows are double plank doors with metal lights. Small flat-roofed larder at right end.
INTERIOR: Small cast iron fire grates; plank doors with strap hinges terminating in leaf motifs.
A small lodge to the Leys, with which it shares a distinctive roof design. Included for group value with Entrance Gatepiers and Gates (q.v.), and as key subsidiary building to The Leys (q.v.).
