Block of three houses, now house and offices. Numbered right to
left, described left to right. Late C18 in two stages of build,
with later additions and alterations. Reddish-brown brick in
Flemish bond with hipped plain tile roofs to left and centre, and
hipped slate roof to right. Double depth plan. 3 storeys, 3
first-floor windows; outshuts to rear. First floor has 8/8
sashes, that to centre in near-flush frame, otherwise in plain
reveals. Second floor has 3/3 and two 4/4 sashes, that to centre
in near-flush frame, otherwise in plain reveals. Ground floor has
6/6 sashes where original, that to left in plain reveals, that to
centre in near-flush frame, at right a plate-glass window. All
have sills and flat arches of gauged brick, now painted, except
to ground floor at right which has a wide, cambered arch.
Modillion eaves to left and centre, cogged eaves to right.
Entrances at right of each house except that to right which is in
right return. From left: part-glazed door with lower flush-beaded
panels and divided overlight; then a door with attached board;
both in plain doorcases with friezes and hoods on console
brackets. Right return: 2 first-floor windows. First floor has
6/6 and 8/8 sashes; second floor has plate-glass window and 4/4
sash; ground floor has 8/8 sash; all in plain reveals and with
sills and flat arches of gauged brick, painted. Entrance at left:
6-panel double door, the lower panels flush-beaded and upper
panels raised and fielded, in pilastered doorcase with frieze and
hood.
INTERIOR: retains transverse beams at left and some plasterwork,
otherwise not inspected.
Nos 7-14 (consecutive) Sansome Place (qqv) form a group.
