House, now hostel. c1760s with later alterations. Pinkish-brown brick in Flemish bond with stucco quoins and window arches; concealed roof and two brick right end stacks; cast-iron balcony.

PLAN: double depth, with hall to right and staircase between front and rear rooms.

EXTERIOR: Three storeys, two first floor windows. Quoins to full height. First floor has French windows and continuous balcony with scroll motif; second floor has 2/2 sashes; ground floor has 2/1 sash; all in plain reveals and with sills and channelled flat arches. Entrance to right a six-panel door, the lower panels flush beaded and upper panels raised and fielded, and overlight with glazing bars within pilastered doorcase with frieze.

INTERIOR: narrow openwell staircase has turned balusters and wreathed handrail.

HISTORICAL NOTE: shown on Young's Map of 1779.

Forms a group with Nos. 1 and 2, 3 and Nos. 7-11 (consecutive) Sansome Place (qqv).
