SJ7478 KING STREET
792-1/3/66 (East side)
15/01/74 No.131

GV II

House, now offices. Late C17 with C20 alterations. Painted
brick with heavy slate roof. 2 storeys, 5-window range divided
by heavy brick pilasters with dentilled frieze over, and
moulded string course between the storeys. Central door, with
4 fielded panels, in moulded case with renewed canopy. Windows
all 4-pane sashes with flat-arched heads. Overhanging eaves,
gable end stacks. Lozenge decoration in brickwork of gable.
Rear wall rebuilt mid-late C20.
INTERIOR: refitted mid-late C20.
The facade represents an unusual and notable example of the
naive "Artisan Mannerist" style of C17 provincial work.
