House and attached railings. c1820-50, with later alterations.
Stucco over brick with concealed roof and brick end stacks,
with iron window boxes.
EXTERIOR: stucco detailing includes tooled architraves to
ground- and first-floor windows, first- and second-floor
bands, fielded panels below second-floor windows; crowning
moulded band and modillion cornice. First floor has French
windows with overlights with stained glass, otherwise 1/1
horned sashes, all in plain reveals and with sills, those to
ground and first floors are wide on brackets. Entrance, 9
steps to distyle Ionic porch with pulvinated frieze and
modillion cornice, within a panelled door and sidelights.
Basement has 3/3 sash and 6-panel door with overlight.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: arrowhead area railings and to sides of
steps and urn finials to stanchions. Ground and first floors
have simple window boxes with rails and scrolls.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Rodin lived here, 1915-16.
