Pair of terraced houses and attached railings. Numbered right
to left, described left to right. c1820-50. Ashlar over brick,
stuccoed to ground floor, with concealed roof and wrought- and
iron balconies and railings. Double depth plan with right side
hallways.
EXTERIOR: ashlar details include ground-, first- and
second-floor bands, crowning frieze and modillion cornice.
Ground and first floors have 6/6 sashes, taller to first
floor; second floor and basement have 3/6 sashes; all windows
in plain reveals and with sills. Entrances to right have
flights of roll-edged steps to porches with 2 Doric columns
and engaged pilasters, surmounted by round-arched frieze with
central keystone and shaped panels to spandrels, cornice;
within are 6-panel doors, that to right now part-glazed, with
fanlights with circle and batwing glazing bars.
INTERIOR: retains original joinery including panelled
shutters, otherwise not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: first-floor windows have individual
balconies and balconies over porches have embellished rods,
panels of scrollwork and latticework friezes. Arrowhead
forecourt railings and to sides of steps and gates, with urn
finials to stanchions.
