building to the Rocklands)

Farmhouse and farm building, farm building converted and
incorporated into house, now single private dwelling. Farm
building C17, house mid C18 with C19 alterations; house
extended and converted to incorporate farm building in late
C20.
MATERIALS: house of brown brick in English garden wall bond on
painted stone plinth; slate roof with brick end stacks. Former
farm building of coursed rubble stone.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey, 3-bay front to house, with single-storey
gabled porch extension in centre: single-storey 2-window
extension to right linking to former farm building at rear.
Porch door is glazed with radial glazed fanlight.
Windows are recessed unequal 3/2 sashes with stone sills and
deep lintels. First floor windows flank oval tablet recessed
in centre and inscribed The White House: above is datestone,
probably reset, inscribed T B M, dated 1700 and bearing a
heart motif. Raised and cogged first floor band and projecting
eaves band both returned across left gable end.
Rear: former farm building has inserted tall 4-light window in
gable end.
INTERIOR: firebeam with billet mould, cove and beaded front:
chamfered ceiling beams, 4-panel doors. Former farm building
has curved purlins and cross beam.
