Farmhouse, now house. Dated 1732, with earlier origins; C19
and C20 alterations and extension. House of whitened
sandstone, extension of painted brick; slate roofs with red
terracotta ridge cresting and gable end stack to house.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 2-bay front with single-storey
gabled porch; 2-storey one-bay extension to right. Porch has
round-arched opening and framed, ledged and braced oak boarded
door. Windows are mainly 2-light horizontal sliding sashes,
those to the attic storey set within gabled half dormers.
Ground floor window to left altered to French doors.
Projecting stone band at first floor level and tablet set
between first floor windows inscribed with heart motif,
initials G B I and date 1732.
Extension has half-glazed 4-panel door and 3-light flush
casement window with glazing bars on first floor. There is a
single course brick band at first floor level.
Rear: single-storey wing and lean-to outbuilding.
INTERIOR: wide boarded doors on strap hinges. Inglenook with
firebeam, exposed beams and ceiling joists. Cottage staircase
based on winders rising to first and attic floors. C16 style
oak panelling in bedroom. Wide boarded doors and exposed beams
and ceiling joists at first floor level. Boarded doors on
T-hinges in attic.
