Stone tomb chest. Dated 1788. Brick stylobate of 3 steps,
stone base; tomb chest of smooth ashlaring, with vermiculated
corner quoins and moulded lid. Recessed oval inscription
panels. Marked J on plan, located to left of entrance gates,
just north of the Shawe tomb (qv).
The burial ground, which was consecrated in 1616, was unusual
in not being adjacent to any church or chapel.
