Rectory, now house. 1814 with c1840 and later C19 alterations.
Render and coursed rubble stone dressings, ashlar bays and
copings; shallow-pitched slate roofs with end and ridge ashlar
stacks.
PLAN: irregular L-shaped plan with staircase in the angle of
the two ranges.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey; 3-window ranges face south and east. South
facade of 3 elements: two 3-light outer bay windows rising
above eaves with tall casements to ground floor and
plate-glass sashes to first floor; recessed panels between
window areas and blind parapets above eaves. The bays are tied
into the facade by platbands across the entire wall face.
Single plate-glass sash to first-floor middle bay. East facade
has central tripartite porch with glazed Carnarvon-arched
openings flanking part-glazed, panelled door; projecting
gabled bay to right with tall 2-light paired casements to
ground floor, bracketed cornice and sunk panels with roundels
at mid-floor level and 2 plate-glass sashes above with blind
semicircular-arched heads and keyed oculus below gable with
oversailing eaves.
INTERIOR: includes 1814 staircase with cast-iron handrail and
floral balusters.
FURTHER INFORMATION: the bay window is in the manner of the
Bath Italianate school of HE Goodridge /Wilson and Wilcox.
