Pair of attached houses, now one. Late C17 with minor mid C19
alterations. Squared and coursed rubble to west end and
uncoursed rubble to east, with stone dressings, west end
ashlar coping and continuous pantile roof, gabled to west and
hipped to east; end, mid-ridge and external ashlar stacks.
PLAN: double-depth plan with 2 former houses in continuous
range parallel to road.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey; 4-window range. Ovolo-moulded mullions
with dripstones and small-pane casements throughout, those to
ground floors of 2 and 3 attenuated lights; first floor has
smaller 2-light windows. Doorway at junction of 2 former
houses to right: recessed with flat stone hood on brackets and
panelled door with rectangular fanlight.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached rubble wall with ashlar coping
encloses front area.
FURTHER INFORMATION: the attenuated length of the ground-floor
mullion windows suggests that all openings, with the possible
exception of the first-floor left window, may date from a mid
C19 restoration.
