GV II

Two attached houses. Mid C18. Lined-out render with ashlar
copings and pantile roof with west end and mid-ridge brick
stacks; squared and coursed limestone rubble end gable.
PLAN: double-depth plans.
EXTERIOR: each a 2-storey; 2-window range. A symmetrical front
to houses with doorways to left; blocking course to parapet
with cornice, coped end gables, shallow-pitched double-span
mansard roof. Ground floors have single windows, first-floors
have 2: all 12-pane sashes in plain reveals with sills. No.7B
to right has round-arched doorway with pilastered sides and
open pediment on brackets; 4-panel door and spoked fanlight.
No.7A has C20 door with single rectangular light in plain
recessed architrave. South-east return wall has window
fragments from Keynsham Abbey (qv) set into a rebuilt gable:
blind 3-light Perpendicular Gothic window with cusped tracery
to centre; C12 chevron-moulded arch to left and C13
trefoil-headed light to right; square single light under
gable.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: formerly part of a terrace with three more
houses to the end.
