GV II

Barn. Probably mid to later C18; altered. Coursed sandstone
rubble with freestone dressings; corrugated asbestos sheet
roof. Rectangular plan on east-west axis, facing north.
Georgian style.
2 storeys with raised regular quoins and
symmetrically-disposed openings: in the centre, a pair of
square windows with wedge lintels and a pair of round-headed
loading doorways above, flanked by round-headed doorways at
ground floor, square windows beyond these and keyed oculi
above, and a large round-headed wagon doorway at each end: all
these doorways with plain surrounds, imposts and keystones.
The west gable wall is in matching style with 3 large doorways
at ground floor under round-headed blank arches, keyed oculi
above these and a Diocletian window in the gable. Coped
gables. Rear and interior not inspected. Forms group with West
House Farmhouse (qv).
