House. C17 with later C17 rebuilding and extensive C20
additions and alterations. Timber-frame with painted brick
infill and replacement; rear gable end of coursed squared
limestone with ashlar dressings; tile roof with brick end
stack and cross-axial stack. Gable facing, front to left;
3-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: single storey plus attic; 3-window range. Entrance
to left of centre has C20 door in C20 porch; further entrance
to left end. 3 windows to right have C20 casements and one
small light to right end; 3 C20 gabled dormers to 1st floor.
Some brick rebuilding to left end; storey-height panels with
rails.
Rear has catslide verandah continued to right as 1950s bay
window with 6-light small-paned glazing; 2 windows with
2-light small-paned casement and small-paned glazing, entrance
with glazed door to left end; 1st floor has one small gabled
dormer and C20 raised eaves to right part with four 2-light
small-paned casements. Some exposed timber framing and a
rubble oven bulge to left of centre.
Front gable of brick with one wall post to left and C20
casement to each floor. Rear gable has ashlar quoins and
coping; ground floor has 3-light recessed-chamfered-mullioned
window with labelmould and similar C20 single-chamfered
mullioned window; 1st floor window as former; datestone reads:
1685.
INTERIOR: exposed timber framing to partition wall and beams;
back-to-back stone fireplaces with stop-chamfered bressumers.
