Terraced houses, now part of Clarges Hotel. c1825. Probably

comparable to Nos 113-114 Marine Parade (qv), but more
complete. Stucco. Roof of slate.
EXTERIOR: 4 storeys over half basement. 3 windows each,
6-window range on left return. Entry to No.115 in left return
is set within a prostyle porch consisting of Doric columns,
responds, and entablature, the frieze of which has Greek key
pattern. Up stairs to round-arched entry of No.116; decorative
glazing in the fanlight. Both elevations treated as
full-height and nearly full width segmental bays. All windows
flat arched. Ground floor of each treated as banded
rustication; cornice between the first and second floors, and
a storey band between the second and third floors; cornice
below roof parapet, the latter pierced in sections by a
balustrade and crested by a rectangular panel with a plain
field, its ends terminating in console brackets. This crest
repeated above parapet of return. 2-storey porch supported by
cast-iron colonnettes; cast-iron railings to ground and first
floor. On the return there is a canted bay in the fifth-window
range of the first floor; between the 4th- and 6th-window
ranges, there is a first-floor balcony with cast-iron
railings, supported by cast-iron brackets.
INTERIOR: not inspected. Railings to stairs and areas.
