A pair of terraced houses. c1825. Probably designed by Amon
Wilds and Charles Augustine Busby. Stucco, roof obscured by
parapet.
4 storeys over basement, 3-window range. Round-arched
entrances set back under a shared flat-arched porch,
consisting of partly fluted Doric columns carrying an
entablature with Greek key pattern; panelled and studded doors
of original design, that to No.18 glazed in the upper part;
ground floor decorated with banded rustication. Both houses
have full-height and almost full-width segmental bays; all
windows flat-arched; first- and second-floor windows set back
under an arcade of giant pilasters carrying round arches;
first-floor balcony renewed; storey band breaking forward
round the pilasters; margin-lights to second-floor windows;
cornice; attic storey; secondary cornice; blocking course;
stacks to side walls.
INTERIOR: not inspected. Cast-iron railings to steps and area.
