Pair of villas, No.15 now flats. Probably c1835-45; altered.
White painted scored stucco, hipped slate roof. Shallow U-plan
formed by double-depth main range with short gabled wings
linked by a loggia incorporating porches.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 6-window range. Symmetrical, with a
corbel table to the eaves. The loggia has a pair of square
piers in the centre, and in the angle with the wing at each
end a round-headed archway with imposts and keystone,
protecting a similar round-headed doorway with fan tympanum,
between which are 2 cross-casements with shouldered
architraves. Above the loggia the main range has 2
segmental-headed 6/6 unhorned sashes with hoodmoulds flanked
by narrow 8-pane fixed windows over the doorways.
Each wing has a rectangular bay window at ground floor with
pilasters, frieze and cornice, and 8/12 unhorned sashes, and a
narrow segmental-headed 6/6 sash above.
Ridge chimney in centre, and side-wall chimneys to both wings,
all with panelled sides and bracketed pedimented tops. Left
return of No.15 has a 2-storey canted bay window.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms group with Nos 11 & 13 to the left (qv) and No.19 to the
right (qv).
