Barn, byres, stables and granary. 1760. By James Lapish,
master mason. For Robert Midgley. Coursed squared gritstone.
Stone slate roof. 7 bays. Quoins.
West side: large arched entrance with keyblock, 2 tiers of
slit vents, inserted square windows ground floor, 2 square hay
doors above. East side similar arch and projecting ends with
external stone steps to granary over stables, blocked doorways
at the bottom of the steps and near the top, where the tread
is deeper; blocked square opening and small square vents or
put-log holes. S end: 2 stable doors with plain lintels,
square window between and 2 above.
INTERIOR: massive roof structure of 6 tall king-post trusses
with middle and lower braces and queen posts, some original
partitioning.
