Large house, now 2 houses. 1839, altered C20. For Joshua
Burton, wool stapler. Hammer-dressed ashlar, low-pitched slate
hipped roof. Cornice and blocking course. 2 storeys, 3 bays.
Sashes with glazing bars, blind to left. Central entrance with
Tuscan attached columns supporting entablature, semicircular
fanlight with glazing bars. S elevation: 2 storeys, 2:3:2
windows, central 3 windows in semicircular bay. Large central
stone chimney with cornice.
INTERIOR: entrance hall with cantilevered 2-flight stairs,
cast-iron balustrade, ramped handrail; garden-front rooms have
grey and a black marble fireplaces, shutters.
