01/11/91 Weaving shed at Burley Mills

GV II

Weaving shed. Mid C19. Coursed squared gritstone, slate roof,
stone gable copings. Almost square plan of 7 bays on north and
14 windows on east side. Plinth. Single-storey. North facade
has 2 central inserted wide doorways flanked by round-arched
openings, that to right having stone blocking; outer windows
have sills at plinth level, no jambs, plain lintels. West and
east sides; tall and narrow windows, plain sills and lintels,
square ventilators above and between. North-west corner
rebuilt: stone lean-to, brick and weatherboard gable.
INTERIOR: tall cast-iron columns support timber part-glazed
roof.
