8/67 Walling to road curtilage
of Abbey Farmhouse

A length of boundary wall extending south from the main entrance to Abbey
Farmhouse for a distance of some 90m, around the corner and eastwards for
another 60m. The northernmost section is probably C13 and is the surviving
part of a small Benedictine Priory. Flint rubble, with some coursed work;
later repairs, especially in C16-C17 red brick, mainly on west side. About
2.5m high. The remainder is later C18 or C19 red brick, mostly with dark
headers, laid in Flemish bond. 2-2.5m high. Corner section rebuilt mid C20.
