Entrance gates, piers and screen walls. Circa 1900. Dressed stone,
brick and cast iron. 2 stone piers approximately 3m high, panelled
corniced and with decorative lantern finials are set adjacent to smaller
piers, which are attached to brick plinth quadrants, run to brick piers
with ball finials; cast iron poppy-head railings are set on plinths;
elaborate crested wrought iron double gates and similar screens between
major and minor stone piers. Forms part of an extensive landscape setting,
mostly man-made, to The Lawns (q.v.), an Edwardian mansion built for the
Bass family, Brewers of Burton-on-Trent.
