Public house, now house. 1691 on datestone; possibly partly earlier. Coursed
squared marlstone with some limestone-rubble banding; wooden lintels;
Welsh-slate roof with stone and brick stacks L-plan, 2 storeys 3-window front
of main range, in banded rubble, has a central plank door, a 3-light casement to
right and a 4-light casement to left; at first floor are casements of 3, 2 and 3
lights, that to left with ovolo-moulded wood mullions and frame. Datestone to
left of centre is carved with drapery and inscribed "RB/1691". Stable bay to
right has a loft door and a stable door but is partly obscured. Roof has stacks
flanking house bays, that to right with a rendered stone base. Left gable wall
rids a further entrance and returns to a lower rear wing with a large 3-light
casement over 2 small wood-mullioned windows. Stair tower in angle of ranges has
a blocked 2-light ovolo-moulded wood-mullioned window with intermediate bars,
and there is a 3-light window with chamfered mullions and bars. Most lintels
have moulded chamfer stops. Interior not inspected.
