Field barn approximately 210 metres to north of Lower Trefnant Farmhouse

Small barn. Late C17. Timber framed with red brick nogging on red
brick plinth; corrugated iron roof. 2 framed bays aligned approximately
north-south. Framing: large square panels (2 from sole-plate to wall-
plate) with short straight corner braces to north and long straight tension
braces to south. Boarded loft openings in gable ends. Interior: collar
and cambered tie-beam end trusses with queen struts and V-struts; roof
with single purlins; central cross-frame with sole-plate on low brick and
rubblestone wall, long straight tension braces, central post and cambered
tie-beam truss with raking struts. The barn was formerly part of a larger
complex but buildings shown on the O.S. map to the east have been demolished.
