Barn and cart shed approximately 50 metres to south of Hall Mill Farmhouse

Barn. Mid-C17. Weatherboarded timber frame on coursed sandstone rubble
plinth; gable end to south rebuilt in probably late C18 red brick; plain
tile roof. 4 framed bays aligned approximately north-south; 3-bay barn
to south with cartshed to north. Framing: large square panels, 2 from
sole-plate to wall-plate. West front: barn to right with 3 boarded loft
doors and central pair of large boarded doors; cartshed to left.
Interior: collar and cambered tie-beam trusses with queen struts, and end
trusses with V-struts also; pairs of purlins with wind braces; cross-
frames with central posts, and angle and tension braces. The barn was
probably built at about the same time as Hall Mill Farmhouse (q.v.) to the
north.
